Art at the Source Open Studios — Weekend 1
Now in its 30+ year run and powered by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Art at the Source is one of the most beloved open studio events in the entire Bay Area. Each June, dozens of Sonoma County artists open their private studios to the public for two full weekends — letting you walk in, talk to the creators, watch them work, and buy directly with zero gallery commission (artists keep 100% of sales).
Painters, ceramicists, photographers, sculptors, printmakers, jewelers, and textile artists all participate. Pick up a free studio map and catalog at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts (282 S. High St.) and build your own self-guided tour across the county. Weekend 1 is June 6–7; Weekend 2 runs June 13–14. The preview gallery show runs through June 14 at SebArts.

This curated group exhibition features participating artists and gives you a taste of the range of work you’ll encounter across the county. It’s also the place to grab your free studio catalog and interactive map — essential tools for planning your tour route efficiently.

Art at the Source Open Studios — Weekend 2
The second and final weekend of the 2026 Art at the Source Open Studios — your last chance to visit studios across Sonoma County for this year’s event. Many artists are only open on one of the two weekends, so check the interactive studio map at artatthesource.org before heading out. If you went on Weekend 1, Weekend 2 opens up an entirely different set of studios to explore.
Pro tip: start at SebArts in the morning to confirm the current catalog is current, then build your route by geographic cluster to minimize driving. The rolling hills, orchards, and vineyards you pass between studios are half the experience.

Peacetown Summer Concert Series — Kicks Off at Ives Park
Peacetown is the beating heart of Sebastopol’s summer social scene. Founded by local music impresario Jim Corbett with the motto “Be kind, be grateful, be happy,” this free outdoor concert series runs every Wednesday evening under the big redwoods at Ives Park from June through September. At its biggest shows, 1,500+ neighbors, families, and visitors fill the park dancing and singing along.
The 2026 season opens June 3 and runs through September 9. Bring low-back chairs, a blanket for the kids, and two friends — that’s Corbett’s standing rule. Cold Lagunitas beer, local wine, and food trucks are on-site throughout the evening. This is quintessential Sebastopol, full stop.

Peacetown at Ives Park — All June Wednesdays
Every Wednesday evening all June, Ives Park transforms into Sebastopol’s outdoor living room. Different local and regional bands play each week across a wide range of genres — roots rock, soul, R&B, Latin, bluegrass, swing. Food trucks, Lagunitas beer on tap, and local wine keep everyone fed and hydrated throughout the evening. The specific band is announced weekly — check peacetown.org for the current lineup.
Peacetown also runs an indoor Tuesday evening series at HopMonk Tavern (6–8:30 PM, Wednesdays in The Abbey — free admission, food and drink available). A solid indoor backup if the weather turns sideways, or just a great weekday night out on its own.
2026 Season Schedule🎶 The Barlow Summer Concert Series

The Barlow Summer Concert Series & Night Market
The Barlow, Sebastopol’s beloved 12-acre outdoor artisan market district, runs its own summer concert series every Wednesday from June 4 through August 6 — 10 consecutive weeks of live music on McKinley Street at Pink Lady Court, right in the heart of the district. The vendor night market opens at 4 PM with artisan sellers; live music fires up at 5 PM. Beer and wine served on-site by the Sebastopol Kiwanis Club.
You’ve now got two simultaneous free concert options every Wednesday evening — Peacetown at Ives Park and The Barlow’s series, both starting around 5 PM. The Barlow is also surrounded by some of Sonoma County’s best breweries, wineries, and restaurants, so dinner after the show is easy.
thebarlow.net🥦 Sunday Farmers Market
Sundays · June 7, 14, 21, 28, 2026
Sebastopol Farmers Market at the Plaza
If someone wanted one place that perfectly captures the spirit of Sebastopol, it’s the Sunday farmers market. Nicknamed “Sonoma County’s Groovy Zen Kaleidoscopic Farmers’ Market,” this year-round Sunday institution fills the sun-dappled Sebastopol Plaza with some of the best local growers, food producers, artisans, and live musicians in the county. Local musicians play on stage throughout the morning while shoppers wander with coffee in hand.
June is prime time at the market: strawberries are at peak sweetness (don’t skip Middleton Farm’s legendary berries if they’re there), early Gravenstein apples start appearing toward the end of the month, and flower vendors are stacked with peonies, ranunculus, and wildflowers. Grab fresh pastries, gourmet tacos, or a pressed juice — find a bench by the fountain and let the morning go. This is not a market to rush through.

Explore The Barlow — Sebastopol’s Artisan Market District
The Barlow is a 12-acre outdoor artisan market district with a founding rule: all tenants must be local and must make their own products. The result is one of the most genuinely local food and drink districts in California. Stroll between craft breweries (Crooked Goat Brewing), acclaimed wine tasting rooms (Kosta Browne, MacPhail), distilleries, coffee roasters (Taylor Lane Organic Coffee), artisan bakeries (Sarmentine), and sit-down restaurants — all made by Sonoma County hands.
June is a great time to wander The Barlow: weather is mild, outdoor seating is everywhere, and the Wednesday evening concert series brings extra energy to the district. Kids’ programming includes free Barlow Builders craft activities on Saturdays (10:30–11:30 AM in front of Sarmentine Bakery) and Story Time at Acorn at 10 AM — good for families with young kids.

Florence Avenue Sculpture Walk — Whimsical Street Art by Patrick Amiot
Take a slow walk or drive down Florence Avenue near downtown Sebastopol and discover one of the North Bay’s most delightful public art surprises: whimsical sculptures made entirely from recycled objects by local artists Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent. Robots, animals, and fantastical characters line the residential street in vivid color. It’s completely free, takes about 20 minutes on foot, and is genuinely surprising even if you’ve seen it before. Great for kids, great for photos, great just to slow down for a minute.

Bodega Bay & Sonoma Coast State Beach — Day Trip
Sebastopol sits about 30 minutes from the Sonoma Coast on Highway 1 — one of the most dramatic stretches of California coastline. June mornings can be foggy on the coast (classic “Sonoma Coast June gloom”), but the afternoons often clear to brilliant blue and the hiking at spots like Shell Beach, Goat Rock, and Bodega Head is world-class. Pack layers, bring a good jacket, and plan to arrive by noon for the best chance at clear skies. Fresh fish and chips at Spud Point Crab Co. in Bodega Bay is mandatory.

Ramen Gaijin — Japanese Ramen with Local Sonoma Ingredients
Ramen Gaijin has become a Sebastopol institution — handcrafted Japanese ramen that leans into local Sonoma County ingredients and seasonal produce in ways a traditional Tokyo ramen shop wouldn’t. The broth is serious, the noodles are house-made, and the small plates are worth ordering. It’s beloved by locals and a consistent top recommendation for visitors. Arrive early or expect a wait on weekends.

Goldfinch — Northern California Cuisine Cooked Over Open Fire
Goldfinch is one of Sebastopol’s most celebrated restaurants — Northern California cuisine cooked around an open wood fire, with most ingredients sourced locally from Sonoma County farms. The menu changes with the season, which in June means early summer produce: strawberries, snap peas, early corn, and fresh herbs. The dining room is intimate and warm; reservations are highly recommended. This is a restaurant worth planning your trip around.

Cozy Plum — Sebastopol’s Beloved Plant-Based Spot
Cozy Plum has earned a faithful following for its inventive plant-based menu — dishes like stuffed jalapeños and a mushroom gouda burger that satisfy even non-vegans. It’s the kind of place that makes vegetarian and vegan eating feel like a genuine treat rather than a compromise. Very much in the Sebastopol spirit of good food, good values, and no pretension. A solid pick for lunch or a casual dinner.

Ives Park — Sebastopol’s Community Green Space
Even beyond the Peacetown Wednesday concerts, Ives Park is worth a visit on any afternoon in June. The park features wide green lawns, a creek, walking paths, and towering redwoods that keep the space cool even on warm afternoons. It’s the kind of neighborhood park that tells you everything about a town’s character. Pack a picnic, let the kids run, and enjoy the shade. Restrooms and parking on-site.
🗺️ Visitor Essentials for June
June Weather
Expect mild to warm days (60–75°F in town) with morning fog possible. The Sonoma Coast will be cooler and foggier — bring layers for any coastal day trip. Afternoons in Sebastopol are typically pleasant and clear.
Getting Around
Sebastopol is small and walkable downtown. The Barlow has its own parking lot. Farmers market Sundays can get congested near the plaza — park a few blocks away and walk in. Bike rentals available at Sebastopol Bike Center near The Barlow.
What’s In Season
June is peak strawberry season (Middleton Farm’s are legendary), early stone fruit begins, and late-season snap peas and asparagus are at the farmers market. Gravenstein apples start appearing by late June — a Sebastopol specialty hard to find anywhere else.
Where to Stay
Sebastopol proper has limited lodging — book early for weekends in June (Art at the Source weekends especially). Santa Rosa and Guerneville are both 20–30 min away with more options. Vacation rentals in Occidental and Forestville keep you in West County wine country.
Plan Ahead
Wine tasting at Merry Edwards and Lynmar requires advance reservations — book at least a week out in June. Art at the Source studios fill up on Saturday afternoons; go Sunday or earlier in the morning for a more relaxed experience.
Dog-Friendly?
Very. Sebastopol is one of the more dog-welcoming towns in Sonoma County. The Barlow welcomes leashed dogs throughout the outdoor district. Many tasting rooms and restaurant patios are also dog-friendly — Campanella’s patio notably so. Ives Park is great for a dog walk.
